Father Antonious was born 23rd April 1938 in Alexandria, Egypt. Recently departed on 8th of July 2025. He served as a Sunday school teacher at St Mary Church (Meharam Bek, Alexandria) as well as serving the local youth in different areas and set up a Sunday School service in areas of Alexandria that did not have Church buildings which later became all active Churches.

On the 21st January 1973, he was ordained priest at St Mark Cathedral in Alexandria, serving the congregation of the Church. Pope Shenouda III appointed him as his secretary in Alexandria. On his inauguration as a Hegumen in 1975, the late Pope Shenouda appointed him a papal representative (Vicar) in Alexandria, having a seat in the Holy Synod and being responsible for the Priests and Churches of Alexandria. He worked tirelessly for the benefit of the service and the welfare of the congregation.

In August 1980, Fr Antonious started to serve in St Mark Church, London. He established a vibrant far-reaching service. He sowed the seeds for new Churches all over the United Kingdom, travelling to the Midlands, the North, the South, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Furthermore, he established congregations in many regions of Europe, mainly, Denmark, Switzerland, Greece and South of France. All these are now vibrant Coptic communities and Churches in their own right.

More recently, alongside, his colleagues in the Priesthood, he has been instrumental in the development and evolution of the service in London. Archbishop Angaelos recently appointed him as the Diocese Vicar, working with his eminence to serve the Coptic community in the newly formed Diocese of London.
