Biography:
On Sunday, November 13, 2005 His Holiness Pope Shenouda III performed the sacrament of ordination of the apostolic tradition by the laying of the hands on Dr. Nabil Awad, Pharm. D. to serve as St. George’s third priest. He was ordained as Fr. Luke as was celebrated in his church on December 30, 2005.. Fr. Luke had grown in the church and had served Saint George Church for over 20 years. His ordination is reminiscent of the words of Christ who had said, “The harvest is great but the laborers are few” (Luke 10:2). Fr. Luke served with honesty and love and Christ had fulfilled his promise in him; as he was honest in what is least he was given authority over great things (Luke 19:17).
